Crystal Healing : Turquoise

Good Morning REVEllers! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend , if not you get a whole new week to make it better :-) It's been awhile since we've looked at Crystals and i thought today would be a good day to talk about a particular one . In case you haven't guessed it by the title , we'll be looking at Turquoise and its healing properties.

Turquoise dates back to the B.C period and has been valued by several cultures including the Mayans and Ancient Egyptians. This crystal is said to protect from physical and spiritual harm . It is also associated with good luck , strength , cleansing and relaxation.

Below you will find some of the Characteristics of Turquoise

•  It is the universal stone of protection, strength and health
• It promotes sense of stillness, balances and awakens all chakras, especially the Heart
• Calming and emotionally balancing 
• Strengthens immune system
• Protects the physical person and against negative energy, including electromagnetic stress

It is also believed that is Turquoise is given by a loving friend , it will protect the wearer from negative energy and bring good fortune and wealth . Turquoise is the Universal symbol of friendship .

Since this Crystal dates back to ancient Egyptians and Mayans , it come with a great deal of wisdom . It is very special and the wearer should pay close attention to it and learn to attune to instead of the stone attuning to the person.

Turquoise also contains Healing Properties such as :

• Neutralises over-acidity
• Alleviates rheumatism, gout, stomach problems, viral infections
• Increases growth, muscular strength
• Alleviates pain, relaxes cramps

Turquoise is more than a pretty colour  , it has healing properties and has several uses . I would recommend doing extensive research if you are looking to get into Crystals as there are so much more than what is mentioned in this post.

I know most of you are excited to get to sleep a bit later in bed , some of you might dread it because you have to spend money because its the  Christmas  Season :-) While we are on that note , today i would like to share with you some tips on what to buy for your loved ones according to their birthstone :-) Did you know that apart from Electronics , Jewellery is the top thing people ask for on their wishlists? Before i go any further .. let's jump into it shall we

January - Garnet : This symbolizes Eternity , Truth and Faith

Garnet is found in the greatest variety of colours of any gemstone, occurring 

in every colour except blue. The most common colour for garnet, however, 

is a beautiful rich red

February -Amethyst : This symbolizes Health , Luck and Wit

Amethyst ranges from light to deep purple.

Amethyst is perfect for all forms of jewellery

March - Aquamarine : This symbolizes Understanding and happiness

The March birthstone, aquamarine, is always pastel blue, 

although the darker the colour the more valuable 

the stone.

April - Diamond  : This symbolizes Eternity , Courage and Health

From the word adamas, meaning unconquerable, the diamond is the 

ultimate symbol of love, the best example being the engagement ring. 

When looking for a diamond, always consider the 4 Cs - carat, 

clarity, cut and colour.

May - Emerald : This symbolizes Goddess , Fidelity and Love

Ideal for both classic and contemporary style jewellery, 

from emerald necklaces and bracelets to rings 

and earrings, this gem is valued in much the 

same way as diamonds by cut, clarity and colour. 

A perfect gem for gifts, whether or not 

it is the birth month.

June - Pearl : This symbolizes Nobility ,Beauty and Peace

Pearl comes in various shades, including 

shimmering white and glistening pink. 

July - Ruby : This symbolizes Enthusiasm , Strength and Love

The deep red of ruby has long been associated with religion and spiritual matters. 

The birthstone ruby is second only to diamond for hardness. Ruby is a variety 

of the mineral corundum.

August - Peridot : This symbolizes Success , Peace and Luck

An olive or bottle green stone, peridot is the perfect centrepiece for pendants, 

earrings and rings. In Roman times it was referred to as evening emerald 

as it did not lose its lustre at night but was still visible by lamplight. 

September- Sapphire : This symbolizes Serenity and Truth

The natural colours of sapphire, sky blues, deep blues 

and flower petal pink bring to mind images of nature, 

spring days and fresh air. Sapphire is a beautiful, 

natural, evocative gem, ideal for earrings, 

rings and necklaces.

October - Opal :This symbolizes Wisdom , Purity and Hope

The most important criteria when valuing opal is the 

play of the colour, but we also consider the 

thickness, cut, patterning, weight and finish. 

This gemstone captures the imagination 

and inspires legends - a fantastic gem 

for jewellery and gifts.

November - Topaz : This symbolizes  Sincerity , Wisdom and Courage

Topaz comes in a variety of colours, including white, yellow 

and blue. Blue topaz is most commonly used in jewellery and is the perfect 

centerpiece for rings, pendants and earrings. This beautiful gemstone is 

the ideal birthstone gift.

December - Tanzanite : This symbolizes Prosperity ,Happiness and Health

Turquoise varies in colour, 

from blue to green, depending on the balance of copper 

and iron in its make up. The most desirable turquoise 

is believed to be the sky blue gem from Persia, however 

in Tibet greener turquoise is equally prized. The highest 

quality turquoise is pure, radiant and sky blue. 

Every month is represented by a beautiful birthstone that has designated qualities associated with it.  I actually did this post because i thought all Birthstones once they represented a certain month , they would have that one look . I had no idea the various stones came in different colors. My Birthstone is Amethyst , but i'm honestly not a huge fan of purple , so i figured that from now on , i'll just pretend that i was born in April . Diamonds are Forever :-)

Happy Friday REVEllers ! Let's spread love and peace today as we head towards the weekend. Before i forget , yesterday was the birthday of our head designer Duanne , remember to pass by the page and wish him a "Happy Belated Birthday " . In the world of Fashion and all things creative , we have Birthday weekends, so not to worry you can still send him some love .

There are sooo many new delightful pieces that is sure to make you have an "Eyegasm" by just stepping into our store. Today , i want to introduce to you 3 pieces from our "Tears of the Sun" line. This line features Copper Tone , Bronze and Red Gold . Two of these pieces are called "Entangled". Most of the pieces in Entangled features "wire weaving" where pieces are looped around each other using pliers ,where its hard to tell where it begins and ends . This is a major trend for fall and i predict it will go into early Spring 2013.

Entangled

This piece resembles the "Staff", "that curly "S" you see on sheet music. It is available in Bronze/Coppertpne with small Turquoise balls. This piece can be worn both day and night and can be used to create a number of looks . I would personally wear it for a Daytime look because its a "Stand out piece" . I also feel that more people will see it in the daytime .

Plunge

This beautiful piece is a Bronze and Turquoise combination and features a small Turquoise ball "plunging" from the Gold . I would recommend wearing this piece with a nice dress , hair up and a nice watch ( Maybe Michael Kors) This piece is more on the Elegant side and its beauty should be showcased by pairing it with an Elegant Ensemble. However , If you are a daring Fashionista, go for it .. wear it in the daytime to create drama :-)

When i saw this piece i knew it will be a conversation starter . Where did you get those ? What are those shapes ? Answer Reve ... Entangled :-) Now , this piece is what we call a "Showstopper" piece in the Fashion world . Its that one piece that literally makes you stop and go "Wooow" . It is still cohesive with all the other "Tears of the Sun " pieces  , but it has its own little personality . It also features Turquoise and Bronze/Coppertone.

Collection 2013 : Turquoise By Reve

REVEllers! Today , I'm pleased to share with you a sneak preview of one of our pieces for the 2013 Collection . Turquoise by Reve was inspired by the popular Gemstone , Turquoise . 

For those of you who may not know , Turquoise is a very light " bluish green" colour , pretty close to Teal". At Reve , we select Exquisite Turquoise from  Mexico, Africa and all over the world . Turquoise dates as far as approximately 3000 B.C . Turquoise was even responsible for the material well being of the wearer . "The hand that wears Turquoise will never see Poverty" . With a Gemstone so powerful , it is no surprise that it was the main inspiration behind the 2013 Collection.
