The Queen Collection

T.G.I.F REVEllers! Its the end of the first week of the New Year . I know i promised to reveal some of the new pieces we have in store next week, but today i'll be giving you a preview . Today we will be looking at pieces from the Queen Collection

Queen Ring

This is from our signature line and can be described as a classic piece. This unique ring is made of Silver and Brass and comes in two variations and features 4 small circular studs. The variations are: original (flat) and curve. This is definitely a "Statement Ring" because of its size. This is actually the flat/original version shown in the picture. If you look closely , you would have noticed that this ring is an abstract "Africa"

Queen  Earrings

These are our newest Earrings in the collection They are also made of silver and Brass. This line was inspired  by Jamaican female recording artiste Queen Ifrica .The moment Queen Ifrica stepped out in these pieces we knew it had to be named after her. She wore it with such pride and grace. If you are the type of girl who likes to match pieces , these can be worn together which will be a conversation starter or head turner . If you are more of a "Minimalista" , then you can wear these pieces separately . It doesn't matter how or when you wear them , they are truly amazing and unique.

Come in and "peep" the Queen Collection as well as some of our other unique pieces

Why Not Yoga?

Good Morning REVEllers , i know most of you are excited to see all the new pieces we have in store .. but! i decided to wait until next week to do the big reveal . Today , i would like to look at another health option you can use to transform your mind and body . I'm talking about Yoga ! For those of you who might think that Yoga is something that only people in the States do , you are so wrong . Yoga really took off in Jamaica last year and continues to grow .  More gyms and fitness studios have introduced Yoga to their schedule . Below , i will provide some general information on Yoga as well as the different levels and where in Jamaica you can find the best Yoga places.

What is Yoga?

Noun
"A Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific"

"Yoga involves specific types of breathing and how to maintain a certain type of "peace".

Hatha is a slow paced yoga focused on breathing and meditation . This type of Yoga is great for Beginners. It relieves stress and is great as physical exercise .

Vinyasa

Much like Hatha, Vinyasa covers basic poses and breath-synchronized movement.  It also helps to improve strength and flexibility , tones the abdominal muscles and reduces the risk oh heart diseases , high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.

Ashtanga

Ashtanga yoga metaphorically focuses on eight limbs. Considered a form of power yoga, Ashtanga is fast-paced and intense with lunges and push-ups. This improves one's spiritual self , relieves stress and  is great for people looking to maintain strength and stamina.

Iyengar

Iyengar covers all eight aspects of Ashtanga yoga and focuses on bodily alignment. Different props like straps, blankets, and blocks are used to assist in strengthening the body. Standing poses are emphasized, and are often held for long periods of time. It also helps to improve balance , speeds up recovery from an injury and builds body strength.

Bikram

Also known as hot yoga, Bikram is practiced in a 95 to 100 degree room. It’s typically a series of 26 poses that allows for a loosening of tight muscles and sweating.

Detox For The New Year!

Good Morning REVEllers ! I trust you all had an eventful Holiday season . It's Wednesday and things are pretty much back to normal here in Jamaica . I know that most of you have made the Traditional New Years Resolution to "Lose Weight" or something Health related . I hope that most of you will actually stick to that Resolution and try to maintain a healthier Lifestyle instead of this resolution being just a fad . On that note , i would like to suggest a safer , cheaper way to be healthy for the new year.

Most people would associate Detox with sobriety of ridding one's self from toxins in Alcohol and Drugs . The truth is ...there are other ways of being Toxic . There are soooo many harmful foods and beverages that are consumed daily that might look and taste good but are detrimental to our health !

One way of Detoxing is with Herbal Teas . I first remember when i saw herbal teas at my house i seriously thought it was one of the "special" teas that would "flush my system" and would have me in the bathroom all day. That was kinda true ... but ..the good thing is that not only are they caffeine free, and healthy, but the tea consumption counts as part of the daily fluid intake requirement. This simply means that you will not be spending all day in your bathroom , but you will pass things that are harmful when you go to the bathroom ... get it ? Below are some of the most common Herbal Detox teas ( I've also included brief health benefits)

Ginger : I spoke extensively about Ginger in previous posts and by now you would have know that Ginger is great in assisting with Digestive issues. It also acts as a soother.

Chamomile : This is my all time favourite tea . This is great for calming the nerves at night or during stressful times. Even though it is a Detox tea it is known for helping with colds and cramps.

Lemon/ Fever Grass : This is known to rid the lungs of mucus , relive headaches, balance skin tone, acts as a mild sedative, and is even known to lower fevers.

A Detox Tea is a great way to rid your body of harmful toxins . If you decide to do a detox , be sure to do your research and know what works for your body . There are several types of Detox Teas on the market that are not limited to the ones mentioned in this post. You can find Detox Teas in your local Supermarket in the Tea aisle.
